Happiness

Here’s a simple way to feel happy. Try to do this every morning. There is no minimum or maximum amount you should do, but on average 20-30 minutes should be a good start. I personally practice this for just over two hours everyday.

  1. Pranayama: Take a deep breath of bliss in 4 counts, hold that breath in for 4 counts, and then exhale any negativity out in 4 counts as well. Repeat this at least 3 times.
  2. Dharana: Visualise your day as you would like it to pan out. Within that visualisation now add 5 different things or people you are grateful for. Finally end that visualisation by being fully present in the moment, realising that you are indeed an eternal spiritual being having a human experience, full in knowledge, and full in happiness.
  3. Japa: You will find that a personal mantra meditation session will be one of the most meaningful ways to open your heart and connect with the Divine. The amount of love you will feel from careful chanting is incredible and difficult to comprehend. My personal favourite mantra, which I have been chanting is the Hare Krishna mantra. Give it a try and otherwise, you can have your money back! Lol, anyways good luck with you daily practice and let me know how it goes.

And prepare for rest of the day like below

  • Keep a Journal/ Diary and reflect upon your daily life in it
  • Practice the Pause. Pause before judging — Judging people, judging your situation and in the pause, observe consciously
  • Savour your food. Whatever you eat, eat consciously
  • Never be chased by time, be proactive in your outlook
  • Always think when you respond, our response to situations hurts us the most

To conclude with, Jesus Christ in the Ten Commandments says, “Love your Lord with all your heart and all your soul, and love your neighbour as yourself.” To do which, the first step would be “Seeing the world feelingly”.
